PLEASE NOTE: The following list of weight divisions are divided by age and gender. When you arrive at the venue these details will be confirmed by a representative from your organization. The staff will work to ensure that you are placed in the bracket that is the most appropriate for you based on this information. If for some reason you are not able to find such a bracket you may be asked to either fight in the next closest division or choose not to participate.

Competitors are NEVER disqualified for missing the weight they originally registered for.

You are never expected to compete in a division which you are not comfortable with. The Event Coordinator has the ability to create and modify brackets on the fly to accomodate any number of scenarios. However, issues regarding brackets and matches must be addressed prior to and/or during the event. Emails, social media messages, and phone calls regarding these issues after the event will be unread/unanswered/deleted.

Children and Teens

PLEASE NOTE: Competitors are not required to wear a uniform (gi) when weighing in.

We strive to bracket all of our competitors as fairly as possible according to age, weight and rank. With children, we take this job very seriously as safety is our main concern. Please note the following regarding children’s bracketing:

BEGINNER: Competitor has under 1 year of training or has competed in less than 4 events (This includes wrestling experience of under 1 year). Competitor will fight children within 10 lbs.

INTERMEDIATE: Competitor has 1 – 4 years experience. If 3 events are won at Intermediate, competitor moves up to Expert. Ages 5 – 12 fight within 10 lbs. Ages 13 and up fight within 15 lbs.

EXPERT: Competitors are at an elite level in their training and competition experience. Parents and coaches should be aware what this means. Do not register as Expert unless you are absolutely sure that is your child’s level. Ages 5 – 12 fight within 15 lbs. Ages 13 and up fight within 20 lbs.

*** IF THE ABOVE CRITERIA CANNOT BE MET, WE WILL DISCUSS THE SAFEST OPTIONS FOR THE COMPETITORS WITH THE COACH/PARENTS. IF A MATCH IS CONSIDERED UNACCEPTABLE, IT IS THE COACH’S/PARENTS’ RESPONSIBILITY TO DECLINE THE MATCH PRIOR TO IT STARTING.
